Browse the World Wide Web easily, with this minimal application which comes bundled with text-to-speech recognition and voice commandsWhat's new in Voice Browser 1.1:
Voice Browser Seminar DocumentationSimple setup and simple interface
The installation process does not last very long as it does not come with any unpleasant surprises, while the interface you are greeted by presents a minimal and clean design. It is comprised of several buttons, an address bar and a pane in which to view the accessed web page.
Although no Help contents are supported, it becomes quite clear that all types of users can work with it, including those with little or no previous experience with computers.
Options available
This web browser lets you easily surf the web as it contains some buttons in the main window which enable you to refresh or stop a page, go back or forward and to the inputted URL. In addition to that, it incorporates some custom navigation voice commands.
It is not possible to open multiple tabs, a pretty significant drawback when considering the nature of this utility. You can launch multiple windows in the same time, yet these do not contain an address bar, thus forcing you to remain on the previously opened website. Another pretty significant setback in our eyes is that the URL does not change when you access another web page.
Conclusion and performance
Voice Browser runs without burdening the computerâs performance, as the CPU and memory usage is low at all times. The interface is suitable to both beginners and highly experienced people, the voice commands greatly enhance the ease of use and the response time is pretty OK. Nevertheless, its options are limited when compared to popular web browsers such as Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera.

USER COMMENTS: âI just wanted to express my thanks for your wonderful app. I am an academic researcher who has A.D.H.D., and @Voice has been amazingly helpful to me. (â¦) In my case, ADHD manifests with challenges in concentration and focus. When I read on the page, I frequently find myself having to re-read sentences, paragraphs or entire passages upon realizing that I had 'zoned out' while reading. (â¦) these problems are resolved when I use @Voice to 'read' written work. The TTS format keeps me on track, because even if I get distracted while listening, the speech continues and I am able to quickly return to the author's overall train of thought. And, thanks to the intuitive interface of @voice aloud (especially the highlighting function) it is easy to back-track if necessary. (â¦)So, @voice has truly improved my life and prospects. I estimate that your app allows me to read about 10-12 times more than I would otherwise have been able to read, and has certainly improved my ability to edit my own work.â FEATURES: * Open text, PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF, OpenOffice documents or HTML files from Android file system for reading aloud. * Click 'Share' or 'Send by Email' button/menu item in any app to send text to @Voice Aloud Reader for aloud reading over speakers or a headset. * When sharing web pages to @Voice, their menus, navigation, ads, other junk are removed, leaving clean text to read or listen. * If 'Share' is not available, copy text in another app and paste it into @Voice for aloud reading. * Save articles opened in @Voice to files for later listening. Construct listening lists of many articles for uninterrupted listening one after the other. Order the list as needed, e.g. more important articles first. * Option to instantly read aloud text copied to clipboard. * Read ebooks on screen with their original formatting, images shown, turn pages or read continuously.
